According to Sportsnet's Nick Kypreos, the Pittsburgh Penguins want, get ready for this and sit down please, to trade superstar Evegeny Malkin, and have talked to one team in the West about him. The Reason for such a move: the Penguins think Malkin will want US$8-9 M on his next contract and do not want to pay 2 players, he and Sidney Crosby, US$18-19 M.

Now I think this, of every single rumor I have read over this past season, is the dumbest one I have read.

It is absurd the Penguins would even think of dealing Malkin this season, as he is cheap and playing fantastic hockey.

Yes, in a few seasons, this might be the case, but not now. They have him for peanuts this season and will use him to the maximum. On top of it, ranking 4th in the East, why would they deal "Gino" with Crosby not even back yet?

Congrats Nick, you have made up the dumbest rumor in Hockey this season.
